The lessons are free and nobody has to tell us they are using them, so this is not a complete list — it is what we know about. If your group belongs on it, say so in the forum or email wvurail@gmail.com.

Taught with
ASTR 735: Radio Astronomy — Institute for Astronomy, University of Hawaiʻi. Jonathan Williams runs a one-credit graduate and senior-undergraduate seminar whose summary is “a github repo with everything you need to build a horn telescope”, with DSPIRA among the resources. Fall 2021.

For Teachers — Green Bank Observatory. DSPIRA is described there as the six-week summer research programme the observatory ran with WVU for ten high school teachers a year.

Interferometry Using Very Affordable Radio Horn Telescopes — John Makous, Concord University. Sixteen slides on the two-horn interferometer, from the basic theory through the Green Bank set-up to the fringe results, given at the CSAAPT Fall 2023 meeting. Makous also wrote LightWork Memo 31 and contributed to gr-radio_astro.
Observing Galactic Neutral Hydrogen Using Radioastronomy — poster, 2023 Spring Meeting of the APS Eastern Great Lakes Section. A portable telescope of the DSPIRA design, built by a former student, used to measure 21 cm column densities and check them against published values.
